Whitewater kayaking at its best!
John Siedlicki running the slide at Elevator Shaft
Elevator Shaft is the last named rapid on the Lower Moose River. When the MacKeever gauge is at 3.4 it is a clean slide with a drop of about 8 feet. The drop puts you right into a nice sized wave, but does not hold you. The drop is fun, and clean. You might hit bottom on river left if you go deep. It is not difficult to eddy out river left and climb up the small rock face to run the slide again. It can be taken backwards, and is really quite fun to do that.
